Travelling with cloth nappies: part 1

When parents go out and about, whether it's out shopping or on a week long holiday, they often opt to use disposable nappies instead of their usual cloth. The first time we went on a holiday with our son, I did the same - it seems a lot easier to use disposables when you are staying away from home, especially when you're not staying with family. On our next holiday, I wanted to show off our modern cloth nappies to our family, so I was determined to use cloth! I took about 12 pocket nappies with microfibre square inserts - because these are single layer, they are very quick to dry. As we were spending a lot of time in the car, I used a plastic shopping bag as a make-shift pail (which worked very well!) but you could also use a large wetbag or 2. I washed when I could, once every day or two - staying with family makes this step a lot easier.

To be continued tomorrow...
