Soaking not required!
When people think about cloth nappies, they are often put off by the old method of soaking soiled nappies before washing. However, modern cloth nappies do not need soaking! Soaking modern cloth nappies in chemicals like Napisan can actually deteriorate the PUL cover and elastic used in the nappies. Instead, try dry pailing your nappies - simply put your dirty nappies into a bucket with a sealing lid (although you might want to rinse the nappies first) until you have a full load of washing. I recommend washing nappies every 2nd or 3rd day because the smell lingers even after washing if you leave dirty nappies for too long!
